For me the hardest thing about moving to another country wasnt to make new friends, learn a new language or how to ski, but to be afraid. Being afraid of what my new friends would think when they would find out the truth about me. In 2007, when I was 16 and moved to Norway, I got diagnosed with psychosis. I never dared to tell anyone. I was embarrassed and scared. In 2011 the doctors found out that my problems were caused by something physical. My friends and family were so happy, not because my symptoms were different, but because I didnt have a psychiatric diagnosis. For me the fear of other peoples reaction was worse than having a psychiatric diagnosis. By making this movie I hope that other people can get a better understanding of how it feels to be a psychiatric patient, and that others in the same situation can stop being afraid and ashamed. Fear is a visual, highly personal and poetic movie - a desire for acceptance and love.
