Trends for the 2009 up-an-coming festival
Once again the entries were extremely varied—they ranged form very short films (45 seconds) to feature-length films (100 minutes)—and spanned every conceivable genre. We also received a large number of documentaries.
Many of the entries came from a new generation of directors without a traditional background in film – for instance, graphic designers or artists working with new media. For the first time we received entries from Costa Rica, Indonesia, Taiwan and Peru. Brazil, with 60 entries, was responsible for the most submissions.
