up-and-coming goes through the ceiling

Paraguay, Antigua, Syria and Brunei are represented for the first time. The applications include works by students from 32 German and 78 international universities; 85 schools from all over Germany also have the chance to win a special prize for films made at school: the "Bundes Schülerfilmpreis".

The award is presented at the end of the festival alongside the "Deutscher Nachwuchsfilmpreis" an the "International Young Film Makers Award". The award ceremony, followed by screening of the winning films, will take place on 24 November.

An independent pre-selection jury is currently reviewing all submissions. The nominations and thus the film selection, which will be presented up-and-coming from 21 to 23 November at the Pavillon Cultural Center, will be announced at the end of Oktober.
