WITH NIGHTFALL, DECAY SEEPS INTO THE MEGALOPOLIS REVEALING ITS VISION, ITS SCAR
by Harald inHülsen
No stars, no funding, but a vision.
Visualized contemporary moods of young film makers, authors and sound artists from international mega-cities, where the cityscape merges with heliopolis. In the films, literature and sound experiments by young artists to premiere at Wounds & Visions the cities are dissected, analyzed and penetrated. We as viewers experience the megalopolis from the inside out. The wounds, the visions of the young generation, shattering the mirror they hold up to the city and maintaining their self-esteem. They are especially eager to describe the extraordinary, the mystical, the astonishing in their urban caves.
The young artists from Bombay and Cairo are travelers. They orientate themselves through images, sounds and language on site, where the broad beach of broken dreams and visions has been paved over in urban asphalt.
